What Should Mutually Assured Seduction Do More?
I have been training to volunteer at hospice. One of the main trainers — her mom was a hospice nurse. It is clear that she is familiar with the tradition, and is comfortable with it. She said that nobody ever gets rich working in hospice, and that she has stressful days, but that she never has a day that she doubts the meaning of her work or thinks she should be doing something else.
That there is an economy for this kind of work is wonderful. I learned that having volunteers is actually a legal requirement of hospices. Without volunteers, they cannot legally be open.
There is a difference between something being very much worth doing, versus something having “demand” (people knowing they would like to have it), versus something being connected to economic instruments that make doing it possible in the modern economy. In the case of hospice, Medicare pays for it, but this was not always the case. It started as a grassroots movement in England in the 1960s. Before that, it wasn’t a thing.
I thought I would write down what kinds of things I might be “game to do” regardless of considerations about where it fits into economic chains. That can be a different exercise on a different day. This is just going off of values and what I might enjoy doing, and ways I want to do energy exchange with other people.
I am not considering things like how hard it takes to train up, how hard it is to be in networks where people buy things like this, competition with people who have done the skill for years, etc.
I was just thinking today that I would be extremely game to be a shrooms-sitter, or a shrooms-cuddler, given appropriate compensation. I like people and think I am uniquely well-suited to be with people in moments like this. This is something that I do less just on the fly, in part because I know how much energetic exchange and general energy (you get tired) goes into doing it properly, in part because being a drive-by shrooms sitter is just a funny situation to end up in (though I have a few times ended up in this). But that I have a vision of what doing it properly actually entails makes me feel like I would enjoy doing it for pay. If I know I am walking into it and know that this is just what the day is going to be, I think I can plan it well and keep my head while being in the right mood that fits the people undergoing it. I also have some training around some trauma stuff, and so am more confident than average about being able to hold people in that space.
I love photography. I love photos of people in intimate moments. Boudoir photography is something I have never tried but also wanted to test my hand at. I generally love taking portraits, but am not at a professional level. I just have a good eye and make people comfortable, and have ideas about where to put them.
Helping people with their dating docs and dating profiles. Often people have aspects on there that they might not be sure are as polarizing as they actually are. It is good to be polarizing so that the right people find you, and so my goal in working with people would be to clarify what actually they care about most, and communicating that in the document, so that they are polarizing for the purpose of filtering for the right things. (For example, saying you want a wife who is “close with her family” is not actually neutral, and signals that you are probably a certain kind of guy — good if you actually are that kind of guy, bad if you are just copy-pasting stuff you think sounds good and are painting yourself as being somebody you are not, and are attracting and weeding out the wrong kinds of women).
I love massage, and energy-healing touch, and want to continue to practice this.
I am game for yelling at people, and other dommy things.
Being used as a partner for performance art / flirting training / touch therapy, things that require another person to be there and take a lot of “impact” of some sort. I am resilient and have my own ways of taking care of myself, and generally like to have things “being done to me” so long as it is in a finite and controlled container.
I would be game to be a main attraction at fairly scandalous parties.
These are just some ideas. I will send these to my logistics friend and see what he thinks.
